Top MMO Related Apps for Your Android Device

If you’re an avid MMO player, it’s often difficult to be away from your computer and gaming buddies for an extended amount of time. Luckily, game developers have started providing their players with mobile device apps. Oftentimes, these let players socialize with friends and guildmates and access special features from anywhere!

The type of app and its functions depend on the game, of course. Here is a list of the top five MMO apps for Android phones. Most of these are also available for most Apple devices. Keep in mind that these apps won’t let you play the actual game on a mobile device, but they will let you chat with your friends and access some cool features.

RIFT Mobile

The mobile app for Trion’s RIFT MMORPG lets players chat with friends and guildmates, access guild messages and features and play a special, mobile-only mini-game that rewards players with in-game RIFT loot such as crafting materials, collectible items and planar currency. This one’s a must-have for all RIFT players!

PlanetSide 2 Mobile Uplink

The mobile app for Sony Entertainment’s PlanetSide 2 MMO FPS lets players access character stats, scores, ranks, game updates and game leaderboards in real time. It also features a comprehensive guide to the game as well as a library of community-created content. This is an invaluable app for players newer to the game.

This mobile app for ArenaNet’s Guild Wars 2 requires the use of a free plugin on the machine the game is installed on. Once that’s installed, this mobile app will allow players to access detailed character information including WvW stats and scores, achievement progress and even past combat logs. The system features menus that mirror the same user interface found in-game, which is a neat touch.

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Mobile Database

Players of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will be able to download a mobile app for both Apple and Android devices. The app will initially serve as a database that will allow players to research items, quests, classes, mobs, achievements and more. For information on classes before the game launches, there are many sites that you can check out. As the game develops, Square Enix is also hoping to add additional paid features that grant access to auction information and more.

World of Warcraft Mobile Armory

Blizzard’s mobile app for World of Warcraft allows players to access most armory functions including information on all of their characters such as gear, achievements and stats. It also lets players interact with the in-game calender tool, chat with guildmates and friends and search for players, items and guilds. Additionally, it includes full auction house functionality.

With the ever-increasing pace of advancing technology, there’s a lot to love about the direction MMO developers are headed. We’re seeing new ways every day to enjoy the games we play, learn more about the games we play and communicate with fellow players. It’s a good time to be an MMO game
