Help Mr Mousey in World Of Cheese [Android Game Review]

Enter into the miniature World of Cheese and help Mr. Mousey search for pieces of cheese scattered throughout the house.

The game begins with the prologue via a scrolling panel comic strip telling the brief story of Mr. Mousey’s family troubles of running out of food and him laying out the blueprint of how to replenish his family’s food source. This interesting puzzle game is divided into seven stages/rooms, with each room containing five different puzzles and tasks for you to master and solve. The array of rooms includes the backyard, attic, garage, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and living room. Now, this is not your ordinary puzzle game. Unlike other puzzle strategy games where you have to escape through a maze or eliminate your enemies in a certain amount of turns, you have to essentially perform chores around the yard and around the house in order to be rewarded with cheese. Some of the chores you will have to do within the game include milking the cow, painting fences and planting flowers.

To my surprise, World Of Cheese is not as much of a strategy game as it is a game of critical thinking and common sense. This is a good game to attract young gamers, in terms the cartoon graphical interface and the creation of a cute, animated character, Mr. Mousey. However, the overall gameplay and objectives could pose as a potential turn-off for among the young, adolescent users, and among users in general. I don’t believe there are a lot of people out there, young or old, that want to take a break from real-life work by playing a game where you have to do virtual chores. Another major issue I have with this game is the lack of tutorials. Entering into the first level of the game, one would expect to be shown how to at least get past the first level through a step-by-side guide to generally show how the game is played. In this game, you are pretty much left on your own to figure it out for yourself. Fortunately, it will not take a long period of time for you to figure out how to play the game.

Aside from the aforementioned issues, World Of Cheese is a good educational game for parents to expose their children to increase the child’s critical thinking and problem solving abilities. Unfortunately, there is little to no replay value due to the fact that you will quickly learn and memorize the exact step-by-step process in each level you play effortlessly. This app is free to download in the Google Play and iTunes app store and if you have a data plan, I would suggest you download this game by using a Wi-Fi signal due to its hefty 80MB plus size.
